K2/3 Class Theme 4 Outing - Focus on Surroundings and Community!
We had a wonderful outing for our K2 and K3 students, centered around our theme 4, which focused on Surroundings and Community!
The K2 students explored their local community to identify important resources and their locations. They applied their new knowledge of maps and map-reading skills by completing worksheets.
Meanwhile, the K3 children concentrated on identifying accessible facilities and understanding the challenges related to public accessibility. They gained valuable empathy by experiencing the subway from the perspective of individuals with different special needs. This included riding blindfolded to simulate being blind and walking on one leg to understand the challenges of a disability.
The children were also encouraged to document their exploration process through drawing, photography, or writing. It was a productive day of experiential learning!
