Today we celebrated the Birthdays of January and February children. The theme for the party was the Befana, a witch-like figure of the Italian folklore that brings a sock which is full of presents to the good children on the Epiphany Eve. To better understand this festival, our pupils discovered more about the Befana through storytelling. They also decorated Befana socks and played games to win candies. By the end of the day, they had colourful socks filled up with delicious presents from the Befana to bring back home. What a fun way to celebrate Italian culture and traditions!
