We are so honored to invite the teachers and pupils from the Catholic Mission School for the celebration of the International Day of Peace. Together, the pupils shared the story “Can You Say Peace?”, sang the song “Peace like a river”, and had a Peace collage art activity.
Peace education is a huge aspect of the Reggio Method: following the devastation of WWII, the citizens of Reggio Emilia sought to establish a school that recognized the right of every child to high quality care and education, that would promote a sense of participatory civic consciousness so as to prevent any resurgence of fascist reign or war.
As a member of the Reggio community, the opportunity to honour and remember the importance of peace on this special day is one that we feel lucky to share.
