Dear parents,
This morning we held the first catholic storytelling class at school.
Father Vincenzo explained to the children the story of Mary and Joseph traveling to Bethlehem.
The children had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the characters through coloring sheets and puzzles depicting Mary and Joseph with the donkey.
In closing, Father Vincenzo placed Baby Jesus in the school nativity scene.
Our nativity scene comes from Naples and has been made entirely by hand in the Ferrigno family’s artisan workshop according to the Neapolitan tradition of the 18th century.
The figurines are up to 38 cm high, have polychrome terracotta heads, crystal eyes, wooden limbs and 18th century dresses manufactured by hand in San Lucio’s silk (the famous silk factory, still active, founded by the king of Naples in the late 18th century, included in the list of “UNESCO World Heritage Sites”).
We wish all families a peaceful Christmas and happy new year!
